Information technology's no wonder I liked this! With the exception of the white wine, which I actually liked, this is the mode I've been making Beef Stroganoff since I was a young daughter in the early 60s, from a paperback Sealtest cookbook! I'm on a budget so instead of beef sirloin, I used beef STEW MEAT. I fabricated certain that the recipe simmered for a while before I used the stew meat as the simmering helps tenderize the tougher cuts of meat. When I floured the meat, I added just a little onion powder, garlic powder and fresh ground pepper. I fabricated no other changes. Mine was washed simmering at but under 2 hours. I served this over hot buttered egg noodles. My family INHALED this. Out of the whole skillet, there was a small amount for my married man to take for work the next day. Succulent!

This is admittedly delicious. I fabricated this exactly every bit directed and got a dish that was creamy, rich with flavor and hearty. My son liked it a lot and he is not a beef fan. I only had ground beef on hand only it worked just fine following the same directions. I sprinkled the flour & table salt mixture over the basis beef before placing it in the pan. It adds flavor and thickens the drippings. Cheers for adding this!

Very succulent and easy to follow instructions! This was my offset fourth dimension making Beef Stroganoff; I came to allrecipes.com looking for something my friend described as having made and I chose this i considering it uses the same ingredients. As I was nervous nigh the meat tenderizing I used a tenderloin roast which cut simmer time to almost naught. Simple, fabricated mostly with ingredients commonly on hand with an outstanding outcome! Creamy, bulky, mushrooms. You won't go wrong!

This was ane of the best stroganoff recipes I've ever tried. I merely shared some leftovers with a coworker and she agreed. I did add some balsamic vinegar to the stock mixture and I added more the called for beef stock as the roux was also thick without it. Very, very tasty!

Delish! And yeah, I made this in the crockpot.....used some marsala wine since I had no white wine, and at the finish of slow cooking for virtually 9-10 hours, added four oz. of depression fat cream cheese and 1c of low fat sour foam, thick, flossy and delicious! Served over buttered egg noodles, family loved...cheers!

Great recipe. I recommend de-glazing the pan with the white wine and increasing the corporeality of beef stock.Whatever cut of beef can be used, increase cooking times for 'tougher' cuts. Philly cheese is a great substitute for sour cream. Serve with fresh parsley and egg noodles. I have made this recipe many times, its a firm family favorite

Tried this recipe and the family loved it. The tomato paste makes for a more "rich" sauce than others recipes. I used "Improve Than Burgoo - Beef Base" for the stock equally it keeps very well and is my go to beefiness stock with groovy season. I too used Red wine, as I traditionally use red wine with crimson meat and white wine with white meat. I'chiliad certain its fantastic as written, a definite recipe to try. I've never ad meliorate stroganoff...,

This was very easy and very proficient. I used all the ingredients with the exception of leaving out the mushrooms since I didn't accept any. After sautéing the beef and onions I put everything in a slow cooker for about 3 hours and added the sour cream at the end. Information technology was a good condolement food dinner.

this was my most adventurous try at a 'gourmet' repast. followed the directions exactly (with the exception of more garlic, equally is our preference).....was excellent! could not exist happier with the result - it will assuredly get a regular in this home.

I tripled the flour and salt in the commencement step to properly coat the meat and that left the drippings quite thick so I doubled the butter for both steps and also doubled the mushrooms. I ran out of wine so I used more beef stock instead. Also simply permit it cook for a footling over an 60 minutes. It needed quite a fleck of pepper at the end merely the result was fantastic. I take a simpler, less traditional recipe that I usually use for beef stroganoff simply my exceptionally picky married man actually moaned several times while eating this so I guess this is my new recipe.

This dish was incredible. I hate to sound likewise "Food Network-y", but the sauce had an unexpected depth of flavor--then rich and delicious. Sadly, in that location were no leftovers. Even though there are merely 3 of u.s., each of us went back for seconds. ***** Annotation: I didn't accept tomato paste, so I substituted v-Tbsp. tomato sauce. I used Sauvignon Blanc, and I used it to deglaze the pan rather than later in the recipe. I used a "healthy" bowtie pasta, just I think I'll use unhealthy egg noodles next time. :-D

This was very skilful. I made information technology the night before (except for the sour cream and wine). The next day, I heated through with whatever extra 1/4 to 1/2 loving cup h2o. Then I added the wine. We only added a couple of dollops of sour cream on top once plated. I will defintiely make over again! I followed the recipe except for adding a piddling extra meat and adding sour foam to plate. The sirloin steak strips were tender in most 2 to 2 1/4 hours. I used No Yolk egg noodles; the next time I volition use regular egg noodles - this recipe deserves it. Best of all, no canned soup involved!

My family liked the flavour of this recipe. I used leftover prime rib, I know that'due south a strange cut to put in a recipe like this but we had a lot of meat leftover after Christmas and my family was getting tired of it. The only affair I did differently was I didn't brown the meat, I just prepared the sauce with the mushrooms and added the meat. I also added the vino earlier the simmer. It was very good.

Expert, but something was missing. Information technology needed more of a beef flavor in my opinion and less of the tomato. I added a trivial fleck of paprika to the sauce and extra sour cream. 3 stars for me and 5 stars from the balance of my family. Serve with coleslaw and mashed potatoes :)

I love Beef Stroganoff and being able to bring the dish to the table quickly, easily and tastefully is a blessing. This may non be the pernultimate Stroganoff recipe but it will be our get to recipe in the future. And FYI Beef Stoganoff was traditionally served over mashed potatoes and is my preferred presentation .

This recipe is pretty much identical to i I received in a recipe cards-of-the-month set, and it is 1 we take enjoyed for years. The one thing the card mentioned, that I do not see hither, is that you can substitute beef boulion for the wine. We make the bouillon two or three times as strong as you would make if y'all were drinking it, depending on how bulky y'all desire it to exist. Beingness non-drinkers, we do not miss the fermented wine taste. If you want a petty tart fruitiness, you can besides add a little cider vinegar to the bouillon. It is skillful either way.

This is a very dainty stroganoff. We added the wine to the flour/tomato paste mixture, followed by the broth. Also added a lilliputian more water to thin it out a bit while it cooked and a dash of thyme. Nice dinner.

Great stroganoff recipe. Used Sprouts organic beefiness broth instead of stock (groovy flavor) and sliced very thin leftover medium rare London bake for the meat. Because the meat was already cooked, I threw it into the pan with the mushrooms and onion when those were nearly done. I just simmered for a one-half-hr and meat was incredibly tender. My partner said it was good, and then corrected himself and said "very good." P.S. I garnished with sliced green onion but parsley would accept worked great, as well. UPDATE: Had a little trouble with an overpowering tomato sauce taste. Next time I would use merely 1 Tbs and get from there.

Taste succulent. Takes a fleck of time to make, only worth it. I used a tiny bit more than vino to compensate for a fiddling actress meat. And another note, I merely used 1 1/2 tsp of the blood-red pepper flakes and I'm glad I did, next fourth dimension I volition only use ane tsp. and I practice similar spicy, just 1 tsp. would be enough for my taste. Would make this over again!

Great dish, cooking time is depending on the beefiness and how much yous're working on the flavors. My husband loved this! I added a splash of balsamic vinegar and included the white wine.I used leftover sirloin beefiness roast and let the flavors meld for one hour. Besides added a few dashes of cayenne pepper and served over egg noodles..... Delish!!

Excellent. I didn't use any wine and it still tasted great. I was worried that simmering with sliced mushrooms in there would disintegrate them so I put them in afterwards I blended the meat back in to the sauce, then simmered for an hour. Perfect.

I really liked this minus the sour cream and white wine at the end. My 10 year old girl rated it 9/10 and my xvi year old son rated it 6/x. Next time I am going to leave out the sour cream and wine. The sauce was better before adding it

I cooked this a little differently from the author. I browned the meat in 3 tbs. butter and then put the meat in the deadening cooker; cooked the mushrooms separately in 3 tbsp. butter until they were brown (about 5/6 minutes) put on top of the meat in tedious cooker. Used large can of fiddling onions, tuckered and into the slow cooker. Then I made the sauce separately as directed and dumped in slow cooker. Slow cooker on low v hours. Added in white wine last thirty minutes. Then dumped in the noodles (half cooked) and allow them soak up the sauce for 10 minutes while making bread and salad. Turned off slow cooker and added sour cream at the very stop. Put lid back on for iii minutes to let it warm. Don't make clean the pan in between cooking the meat and mushrooms. Just add in the butter at the end and cook the flour for 5 minutes until it's golden then add the tomato paste. Permit that get hot, then add the garlic and use half cerise wine/beefiness broth to deglaze the pan. All those bits are what gives the dish so much season.

This is and so uncomplicated simply yummy. I did add together some spices to the flour before coating the meat paprika, onion pulverisation, garlic powder (omitted the fresh garlic) and the common salt and black pepper. After browning the meat and sautéing the onion I put those into a lined crock pot then cooked the flour I used the flour left over from dredging and deglazed the skillet with reddish wine and added the broth. Didn't have tomato paste so I used ketchup instead. Added information technology to the crock pot and cooked on low for two 1/2 hours. It turned out succulent! Thank yous!

8.25.20 First, nosotros actually enjoyed this, my married man says that we demand to put this on the menu more often. This really was quite easy to brand, but there are a few things that I'll practice differently in the hereafter. I will start sauté the mushrooms, onions, and garlic (getting some good color on the mushrooms), remove from the skillet, and so dark-brown the meat. Although the mushrooms tasted OK, they had no color, then this is more of an eye appeal issue to me. The tomato paste was a new stroganoff ingredient (at least for me), and information technology not only lends good flavor, it also gives skilful color to the sauce. I'll also cut back the corporeality of the flour. When it was time to return the beef and veggies to the skillet, there was no way it was going to simmer because the sauce was way as well thick, nigh like paste. I concluded up adding more and more beef broth throughout the remaining cooking process to get the right consistency. Finally, adding the white wine at the end doesn't make sense to me considering there's no fourth dimension for the alcohol to cook off. Most likely, I'll add that after I've browned the meat, using information technology to deglaze the pan. I used Black Angus sirloin that was on sale this calendar week, so the beef was high quality. In my opinion, this is the only stroganoff recipe worth making. It'southward incredibly like shooting fish in a barrel, you can even make with basis beefiness, and tomato paste is then yummy in it. I was looking for something to gear up with ingredients that I had on paw. I had one pound of hamburger meat that I wanted to use up and so that was my main ingredient. I followed the directions the same as if making with the sirloin. I wasn't certain almost sauteing the fresh mushrooms with the meat, just it turned out fine. Equally others suggested, I left out the wine. I didn't run into any need for it. Maybe adjacent fourth dimension I will add a smidge of wine, but I saw no demand to add ane/4 cup. I served with egg noodles. Hubby liked information technology. I would make this once more.

This was really good. I added the vino early like many of the other reviewers and also added a impact of Penzey'southward Bavarian Seasoning to give it merely a trivial richer flavor. This spice blend includes crushed brown mustard, rosemary, garlic, thyme, bay leaf and sage.

As I did not take a total cup of sour cream so I topped upward the cup with patently Greek yogurt. As well did non add the white wine. The sauce was nice and thick, The meat very tender as I had let it simmer 2 ane/ii hours. I did add 1/ii teaspoon of smoked paprika for a little zip. Hubby said it was very tasty. I would make this again without a doubtfulness.

Excellent flavor. I used beef stew meat, equally I had information technology on hand and canned mushrooms (again, had them on mitt). I but simmered for an hour, as I cooked the meat through during browning. I kept tasting it through the entire cooking process and by the time the meal really came together I was full! I will exist making this again. Very good.

This was amazing! The only "tweaks" I made was to use ground beef (because it needed to exist used) and craven broth with a couple of teaspoons of beef bullion granules. Delicious and simple! This recipe is.a keeper.

I agree with some others, it needs a trivial more beef flavor, maybe more beef stock. I'grand not sure! I'd been craving this and it didn't disappoint! The meat was cook-in-your-oral fissure and the business firm smelled wonderful on a common cold snowy day. Considering I had Greek yogurt, I substituted that for the sour cream and the sauce bankrupt unfortunately, simply the taste wasn't affected. I will definitely make this over again; just with sour cream adjacent time

First-class recipe! You don't have to change a thing. I didn't have white wine so I did a substitute of 1 cup beef stock and two TBSP flour. Wisk the two together nicely( then pour into the beef and veggies while simmering. Then I added the sour cream simply before serving.

I added water every now and so as needed. I only simmered for an hour, but it was sirloin, and very tender. I merely had canned mushrooms then that'south what I used, but fresh would have been better. I will definitely make this again.

Lovely recipe! The tomato paste browns the sauce, nicely. Don't be afraid of the sauce browning/sticking to the bottom of the pan. Information technology de-glazes perfectly when y'all add the sour foam and white vino. Suggestion: employ two large portabella mushroom caps chopped into i in pieces. They will hold upwardly better for extended cooking. I but cooked this for 45-1 hour before adding the sour foam/wine and serving. Information technology was perfect! Cheers, Nana...

Simple and delicious!This recipe is great and it came out wonderful. I was thinking that for next time to add reddish wine instead of white, and perchance a little balsamic vinegar as someone else suggested. I served it over aborrio rice and it was just perfect on a cold mean solar day. The only matter I did was add together the white wine to my rue so that the booze burns off, it did take virtually twenty minutes for my sauce to start to bubble, simply y'all can increase the heat a bit more and go on stirring so long as it doesn't eddy. I covered it for the 2 hours it was simmering merely information technology was rather watery, so I left information technology to simmer and reduce without the lid for another thirty-45 minutes and information technology was perfectly creamy! My family unit was not impressed. I think they are used to the traditional white sauce version that I unremarkably make.

This sauce was good, only needed a little more seasoning. I didn't have mushrooms and substituted shredded carrots. The carrots were skillful, but I think I'd add mushrooms and carrots adjacent time. This was overall a great recipe that I will fabricated again with picayune tweaks.
